This proposed talk would cover how artificial intelligence is automating back office functions for enterprises, providing less time consuming/expensive and more accurate/efficient solutions. To highlight exactly how AI is automating back office functions, I will go in depth about my company, AppZen, the first AI solution for back office automation. I will discuss how our artificial intelligence techniques automate auditing for Expense Reports, which effectively detects fraud and compliance issues. I will also talk about the technology stack, which includes machine learning, semantic reasoning, computer vision, and natural language understanding, and discuss how to effectively combine various techniques to build a robust intelligent system. To showcase the effectiveness, I will highlight results from deployments at some of our largest customers. Lastly, I will discuss our company’s plans to develop additional artificial intelligence solutions that automate other back office functions, including accounts receivables. Key points:

Kunal Verma is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of AppZen. He is responsible for product development and engineering, technology architecture, and developing the IP for AppZen's AI technologies.

Kunal was formerly Data Management and Lead Researcher at Accenture Tech Labs where he led global R&D teams of PhDs and engineers as well as developed tools that have been used at hundreds of Fortune 500 Companies.

Kunal received his BE in Electronics and Telecom from the University of Mumbai and his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Georgia with a focus on Semantic Technologies. He has chaired several conferences including ISWC and ICWS as well as published over 50 papers and granted seven patents.
