In 2017 there is an expectation for AI to understand, learn, predict, adapt and potentially operate autonomously. The Artificial intelligence of today only provides some degree of who, what, where, when, how but not why. The solution is to incorporate causal reasoning into advanced machine learning to deliver the Why.

Mina Lux is an award winning digital industry veteran with a track record of proven success. As co-founder and VP of Sales and Marketing at FloNetwork (an email technology company founded in 1995 and acquired by DoubleClick in 2001) she white papered the concept of the server/client platform and coupled the technology with account services assisting brands and clients in maximizing direct email as a lead generation and revenue growth tool.

After FloNetwork, Ms. Lux continued with her interest in marketing and digital technology. She took to the #1 news site ranking, beating out CNN in less than 4 months. For Double Day Book Select professional book clubs she broke records by reducing new account acquisition costs to 1/20th of prior levels. She built Scientific American’s digital business from zero revenue in 2000 to 16% of aggregate corporate revenue in 2006.

In her consulting career, she has solved numerous digital challenges including taking from 560K unique visitors to 4.2 million within 18 months on a limited budget plus growing advertising revenue by working with and training the Turner Broadcasting Systems ad sales group. Her current consulting clients include The Frisky, truTV, Adult Swim, Bob Vila, blip, Image Entertainment and more. Ms. Lux was recently awarded with a Stevie Award for Women in Business and an Entrepreneur of the Year Award from her alma mater the University of Ottawa.
